How Our Boot Sizing Works
Share
We use EU sizing for all Imminent Occurrence boots. The reason is simple: EU sizing is not split into men’s and women’s systems. A size 42 is a size 42. It does not need a gender costume stitched onto the number.
That matters for us because our boots are made for men, women, and everyone in between. The shape, last, and fit matter more than the label attached to the person wearing them.
Why EU sizing?
Different sizing systems can get strangely theatrical. US sizing separates men’s and women’s sizes. UK sizing follows another track. EU sizing gives us a cleaner common language: one scale, consistent proportional movement up and down, and no separate gendered number system.
Our current boot sizes range from EU 38 to EU 48. Most of our inventory is concentrated in the middle of the range, where demand is usually highest. Smaller and larger sizes are still part of the system, but we may carry fewer pairs at the edges.
Approximate size comparison
The chart below is a general guide. Shoe size conversions are not perfect across brands, countries, or lasts, so treat this as a translation tool rather than a courtroom document. When in doubt, use your usual EU boot size as the starting point.
| EU Size | Approx. foot length | UK approx. | US men approx. | US women approx. |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 38 | 24.0 cm | 5 | 6 | 7.5 |

Inventory and backfilling
When a size sells through, we try to backfill it as soon as possible. Because our boots are produced in small batches, an out-of-stock size may take two weeks to one month to make, depending on the boot, leather, workshop schedule, and current production queue.
If we are out of stock and expect a delay in your size, we will contact you. We would rather tell you plainly than make the order disappear into a velvet fog machine.
If you do not see your size
If you do not see something you like in your size, please contact us. We may already have a backfill planned, a pair in production, or a realistic estimate for when your size can be made again.
