Materials & Sustainability
Imminent Occurrence approaches sustainability through the way things are designed, sourced, made, maintained and kept in use. Our aim is not to claim perfection, but to stay close enough to production to understand the consequences of our choices and improve them over time.
Materials
We source as much as possible within León, Guanajuato and its established leather and footwear ecosystem. We prioritize natural, plastic-free materials where technically possible, alongside certified leather sources and deadstock or end-of-line leathers and textiles that might otherwise go unused. Our footwear uses all-leather internal components wherever possible.
Whenever possible Imminent Occurrence deliberately sources deadstock, surplus, scarred, and cosmetically imperfect leather for uppers, soles, heels, garments, and accessories. Rather than specifying uniform hides and rejecting natural irregularities, we incorporate scars, grain variation, discoloration, and other imperfections into the finished product. This allows us to make use of material that is frequently rejected by conventional fashion and footwear production and improves utilization of existing leather resources.
Small-Batch Production
Our pieces are developed and produced in our own workshop in León. We work in limited runs to reduce overproduction and excess inventory, plan pattern cutting carefully, and retain useful offcuts for sampling, repairs, accessories and future development.
Built to Last
Longevity is central to the collection. Our Goodyear-welted footwear is made to be resoled and repaired, while garments, outerwear, bags and accessories are designed for maintenance and long-term use. We regard repair, patina and visible aging as part of the life of an object rather than reasons to replace it.
People & Production
Because we operate our own small workshop, we work directly with the people making our collection. We aim to support skilled work, fair remuneration, direct communication and meaningful participation across production and leadership roles.
Traceability & Next Steps
We are continuing to improve documentation of material, supplier and tannery origins, increase the use of deadstock and end-of-line materials, track waste more systematically, and formalize repair and aftercare. We prefer transparent progress over presenting sustainability as a finished achievement.
