Handmade Leather Field Parka

A long black leather parka built as a durability layer. Cut with a pointed collar and featured with a zipper-removable hood, long sleeves, and a straight elongated body.  The piece carries the feeling of distant fieldwear come to life. Protective, understated, and architectural, holding presence and attention without superficial spectacle.

The leather is our natural matte finish with visible grain, soft creasing, and subtle variation across each panel. These irregularities are part of the piece, not flaws. They reflect the hand of the maker, the character of the hide, and the slow process of building something durable in a world of disposable waste.  The piece is intended to gain shine organically over time with use, friction and contact with natural oils. 

The construction balances utility and restraint: a front closure with dark metal hook fastenings, two large front flap pockets with snap closure, and side-entry access built into the pocket structure. A hood sits behind the collar, allowing the piece to shift between coat and shelter, while paneled construction gives the body weight, line, and movement.

A horizontal seam defines the upper body, while longer lower panels extend the silhouette toward the knee. Worn open, it reads as a long leather shell. Worn closed, it becomes more protective and uniform-like. The result is a silhouette that feels grounded, functional, and unmistakably present.

Each piece is made in small quantities with attention to proportion, material, and finish. The result is not mass-produced perfection, but handmade quality with life in it: texture, shadow, structure, and the small signs of human work.
